SEPATON on Monday announced that it’s secure erasure option for it’s S2100®-ES2 data protection systems is now available. The technology provides for the guaranteed and auditable erasure of information on virtual tape cartridges, letting administrators select and erase data according to NIST standards. The erasure option is integrated into SEPATON’s management interface and no manual steps are required to remove, reinsert or transfer media. Unlike physical tape, virtual tape cartridges are useable after the data is overwritten. Pricing is $5,000 per node.
