Nirvanix introduced a new technology that allows customers to migrate files from any cloud service provider to the Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network (SDN). Called Sideloader, the technology ingest data from other cloud providers without going through waiting for it to be sent back on disk or downloaded as a backup to their site. Sideloader uses an API that consumes URLs directly into the Nirvanix Cloud Storage Network and begins ‘sideloading’ data from one cloud to another. The company is the first to introduce a technology of this sort. It is an important technology in light of the failures of some clouds lately and for avoiding vendor lock-in
