TwinStrata on Thursday rolled out a new version of its cloud storage gateway and enablement platform – CloudArray Version 2.5. The latest release adds performance enhancements and automated backup of metadata to the CloudArray portal software. TwinStrata has added volume expansion capability, bandwidth throttling and scheduling as well. CloudArray is also now available on two physical appliances – one completely populated with 2TB of solid state drives for faster connectivity to the cloud and a second with 24TB of onboard storage and 10Gb Ethernet connectivity.

CloudArray now includes thinly provisioned volumes which let users increase storage capacity on the fly and bandwidth throttling and scheduling so network utilizations can be optimized. In addition, the company has enhanced the compression capabilities of the software and allowed customers to automatically backup metadata on the CloudArray portal and instantly restore access to their data on a new physical appliance.
