Overland Storage, maker of SnapScale clustered NAS, introduced on Thursday a new feature called RapidRebuild. The feature allows data to be recovered quickly by rebuilding only the used blocks on a drive. RapidRebuild is particularly useful with large capacity drives.

SnapScale uses the technology with its recently shipping 4TB nearline SAS drives. RapidRebuild is availabe now.
