Zadara Storage recently unveiled a software as a service offering that lets users deploy an Intel-based flash storage solution in an OPEX-based model with prices the company claims rival hard disk drive configurations.
The Zadara Storage Cloud combine Intel PCSD servers, Intel Xeon E5 v4 processors and Intel SSDs based on the new Intel 3D NAND technology paired with the Zadara Storage Cloud software architecture.
The Zadara Storage Cloud can be deployed in the cloud, on-premises or in a hybrid configuration and supports block, file and object data and the Fibre Channel, iSCSI, iSER, NFS, CIFS, S3 or Swift protocols.
Why Should You Care: Zadara is now supporting Intel-based flash storage-as-a-service. They claim to rival doing this at the price of HDD. Since they are teamed up with Intel to do this, hopefully technologies from Intel such as 3D XPoint and 3D NAND will be supported.
