NetApp on Monday announced NetApp HCI, a hyper-converged solution for running multiple workloads. NetApp HCI is built on SolidFire technology and NetApp’s software-defined storage, ONTAP Select.

It consists of a minimum a 2-node version for ROBOs and supports enterprise NAS services, VMware VSAN and external storage arrays. Other versions are available in 4-node building blocks.

NetApp HCI also can be integrated with the company’s AltaVault archive system ad with AWS and the NetApp Data Fabric.

NetApp HCI is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2017.
