Elastifile on Wednesday announced the Elastifile Cloud File System, which allows customers to build an elastic, flash native and scale out system from on-premises, hybrid and public cloud resources.

A distributed file system, Elastifile provides linear scale-out performance, consistent latency and granular check-in/check-out object tiering for data migration and backup. It enables workflows across all sites and is delivered on a pay as you grow subscription model based on consumption.

The Elastifile architecture relies on distributed metadata and the Bizur consensus algorithm. It provides 1-2 millisecond latency in cloud environments and uses global deduplication, compression and snapshot shipping.

Elastifile is now available.

Why Should You Care: Elastifile provides automatic migration between on-premises and public clouds not seen in traditional software defined storage environments.
